Description
abm | Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (Mitochondria) Cell Line | T6083
The Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast (Mitochondria) Cell Line was derived from embryos of a pregnant mouse heterozygous for the bcl-x gene (bcl-x+/−). After immortalization by transfection of the SV40 large T antigen, the mouse embryonic fibroblasts were transfected with mutant Bcl-xL cDNA. This stable cell line is able to express B-cell lymphoma-extra-large (Bcl-xL) targeting the mitochondria. Bcl-xL is a major regulator of cellular apoptotic signalling by expressing Bcl-2 proteins. The Stable Bcl-xL Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast Cell Line (Mitochondria) is a useful model in studying apoptosis regulation of tissue differentiation and homeostasis focusing on the specific activities of Bcl-xL at the mitochondria. This cell line is also useful in screening and development of new therapeutic strategies for cancer and other diseases.
