Mycobacterium tuberculosis Spoligotyping

Spoligotyping Kit with Primers & Controls

Spoligotyping is an effective method for fast detection and categorization of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex based on Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). This technique is developed because of the DNA polymorphism at one particular chromosomal locus, the “Direct Repeat” (DR) region, which is presented in H37Rv and BCGP3 only. The presence or absence of the strains can be detected by hybridization of CR amplified sample to a set of immobilized oligonucleotides on the membranes.

Spoligotyping Membrane

The Spoligotyping kit includes the Spoligotyping Membrane (cat. number IM9702) which is bound with spacer oligonucleotides. The IM9702 Spoligotyping Membrane is available for purchasing as a separate item.

Foam Cushions for mini-blotter

The Foam cushions are an accessory for the  Miniblotter.  The Miniblotter equipment allows the testing of many samples for the presence of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex simultaneously. The reactions can be detected by all conventional methods, including enzyme conjugates, chemiluminescence and radiolabels.

Mini-blotter for Spoligotyping

The mini blotter is used for multisample incubation on a single membrane. Small volumes of the reagent (µl) are required for the performance of spoligotyping analysis for detection of Mycobacteria. The procedure includes washing of all sample lanes simultaneously via washing manifold. This method decreases the  the processing time and allows  is shorter and allows the comparison of the results but without cross-contamination of the rpobes. The mini blotter for Spligotyping  is compatible with all standard electrophoresis systems
