General Information: Gastrin is a peptide hormone released by G cells in the stomach, duodenum, and the pancreas. Gastrin-17 is one of the biologically active forms of gastrin. Levels of gastrin-17 in the blood is measured to evaluate recurrent peptic ulcers, gastrinomas, and other serious abdominal symptoms.
