Description
anti-CD16 | 165-020
Human CD16 is a low affinity receptor for complexed IgG and occurs in two distinct forms, as a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI) anchored protein in granulocytes, and as an integral membrane protein on NK cells and macrophages.
Isotype: Murine IgG1
Immunogen: Human polymorphonuclear leukocytes
Specificity: Antibody 3G8 recognizes both allelic forms of human CD16 (1, 4). It is cross reactive with cynomolgus (7) as well as Rhesus monkey(10) CD16.
Functional Application: Antibody 3G8 blocks binding of complexed IgG to CD16 (2, 5, 9), and has been used to block ADCC in Vitro (11). It is not suitable for Western blot. Ancell 3G8 F(ab’2) has been used to upregulate Mac-1 expression in neutrophils (8).
