Description
Permag® | 102-02-132
Dextran based magnetic nanoparticles (perimag®)
- show excellent properties as a contrast medium for magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic particle imaging (Eberbeck et al. 2013, Konkle et al. 2015 and Zheng et al. 2016),
- are suitable for homing and tracking of stem cells in regenerative medicine and for hyperthermia applications (Kilian et al. 2016),
- are produced by the precipitation of iron oxide in the presence of dextran,
- are available with a diameter of 130 nm,
- cannot be separated with conventional permanent magnets, but only in a high gradient magnetic field,
- are offered with the surface groups OH (plain), NH2 and COOH for the covalent binding of proteins, antibodies and other molecules (Drews et al. 2013),
- are available with covalently bound streptavidin for binding biotinylated molecules,
- can be manufactured with higher iron concentrations on request.
