A peripheral blood mononucleated cell (PBMC) is defined as any blood cell with a round nucleus (e.g. a lymphocyte, monocyte, or macrophage). These blood cells are a critical component in the immune system. The lymphocyte population consists of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, B cells and Natural Killer cells, CD14+ Monocytes, Dendritic cells, and Granulocytes such as Basophils, Neutrophils, and Eosinophils. These cells are often extracted from whole blood or from leukopacks. The Tribo™ Peripheral Blood Mononucleated Cell (PBMC) FBS is designed for PBMC isolation and culture. The product has been tested in PBMC and can be used for culturing other mammalian cells such as primary cells and many cell lines. The PBMC-FBS is of U.S. origin. It meets the highest industry standards for endotoxin and hemoglobin levels and supports the growth of PBMC and other cell and cell lines.
