Description

The Anigen Rapid FIV Ab test is a rapid test based on the principle of immunochromatography for the qualitative screening of the feline IMMUNODEFICIENCY virus (FIV) antibody (Ab) gp 40 in whole blood, plasma or serum. In comparison with the Western Blot, the specificity of the Anigen Rapid FIV Ab test is 99.6%, its sensitivity of 96.8%.

Preservation of samples
Whole blood without anticoagulant should be tested immediately after blood is drawn; whole blood on anticoagulant (EDTA tubes with yellow tip supplied with the kit) within 24 hours. Serum and centrifuged plasma can be stored for up to 72 hours at 2 ° C - 7 ° C; beyond 3 days, frozen, at -20 ° C.

Manual
All kit components and samples should be at room temperature before use.

  1. Take a test cell out of the bag immediately before use and place it on a flat, dry surface. No line is initially apparent in the oblong reading field.
  2. For each test, use a new disposable capillary and aspirate the sample to the dark line of the capillary (approx. 10µl). Place in circular well S one (1) drop (approx. 10 µl) of whole blood, serum or plasma using the capillary and two (2) drops (approx. 60 µl) of diluent (Assay diluent) ).
  3. If after one minute no migration is observed in the reading field, add one (1) additional drop of diluent to circular well S.
Observe the appearance of lines (regardless of the order of appearance or the intensity of color) in the reading field.
  4. Reading of results after 10 minutes
  5. The test with ONLY ONE LINE (control line C) in the reading field is NEGATIVE.
  6. Any test with TWO LINES (the C and T lines) in the reading field is POSITIVE, i.e. contains feline IMMUNODEFICIENCY antibodies.
  7. The absence of the control line C on the left in the reading field renders the test INVALID (either handling error or reduced quality of the reagent; check the horizontality of the work surface).
  8. Do not interpret the results after more than 10 minutes.
All samples should be handled as potentially infectious. If the results are questionable, use another diagnostic method.
  9. Do not base the definitive clinical diagnosis on the diagnostic result alone.

Remarks
Store the kit at room temperature or in the refrigerator (2 ° C - 30 ° C), do not freeze and do not expose to the sun. If the test cell pouch is damaged, do not use this test cell. Test components should not be used beyond the expiration date and should not be obtained from different lots.
