Description

Human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 (MCP-1) ELISA Kit | KTE62721 from Abbkine.

Product Overwiew:

This Human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 (MCP-1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MCP1.

Background:

CD46 complement regulatory protein also known as CD46 ( is a protein which is encoded by the CD46 gene. CD46(MCP;MIC10) is an inhibitory complement receptor. This gene is found in a cluster on chromosome 1q32 with other genes encoding structural components of the complement system. At least fourteen different transcript variants encoding fourteen different isoforms have been found for this gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein and is a regulatory part of the complement system. The encoded protein has cofactor activity for inactivation of complement components C3b and C4b by serum factor I, which protects the host cell from damage by complement. The protein encoded by this gene may be involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization.

Application:

This Human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 (MCP-1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MCP1 in samples. An antibody specific for MCP1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMCP1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MCP1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MCP1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Used for:

ELISA

Features & Benefits:

Human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 (MCP-1) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human MCP1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human MCP1 and analogues was observed.

Usage Notes:

• Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
• Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
• Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
• Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 °C in the sealed bag provided.
• Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
• It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
