Description

abm | AIZ-AR Stable 22Rv1 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line | T3104

The androgen receptor (AR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor involved in developmental and psychological processes and implicated in the pathogenesis of prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer, and altered pubertal development. The AIZ-AR Stable 22Rv1 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line contains a reporter plasmid with three copies of the androgen response region with a downstream androgen response element which allows for the detection of AR ligands through the induction of luciferase activity as early as 8 hours after treatment. The reporter plasmid p3ARR/ARE-luc2P/minP/hygro was successfully transfected into the 22Rv1 cells using the Fugene HD transfection reagent. These immortalized cells are functional for over 25 passages after cryopreservation making them a reproducible and sensitive tool for the detection of AR ligands during research investigating novel pharmaceutical drugs or screening for environmental pollutants that may disrupt endocrine function through AR interaction.
