Description
abm | Fat-1 Stable RM1 Cell Line | T6272
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω3-PUFAs) are known to inhibit carcinogenesis, tumour growth and metastasis, whereas omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω6-PUFAs) stimulate their effects. The FAT1 gene of C. elegans encodes a ω3-desaturase that catalyses the conversion of ω6-PUFAs to ω3-PUFAs, increasing the amount of ω3-PUFAs. Fat-1 Stable RM1 Cell Line expresses the full-length FAT1 gene from C. elegans through stable transfection. These cells are applicable for studies investigating the effects of endogenous ω3-polyunsaturated fatty acids.
