Description

ABMGood | Chicken iPSC | T2502

Derived from chicken embryonic fibroblasts after lentiviral transduction with human stem cell genes, the Chicken iPSC line was developed as a serum-free, suspension cell line for use as an alternative to egg-based methods in viral vaccine research. Eliminating the need for trypsinization and anchorage support, suspension cells are preferable for vaccine production. In addition to decreasing overall production cost, serum-free cell expansion eliminates a potential source for viral or prion contamination; an important consideration for work in vaccine production.

The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow IV medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM004. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution to a final concentration of 1%, L-glutamine to a final concentration of 1%, 2-Mercaptoethanol to a final concentration of 0.01%, non-essential amino acids solution (Gibco) to a final concentration of 1%, and knockout serum replacement (Gibco) to a final concentration of 5%. Filter sterilize the media through 0.22 μm filter.
Change media every 2-3 days.
