Description

Tribo™ Mouse IL-6 ELISA Kit | TBS3040

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine which regulates immune response, acute-phase reactions, and hematopoiesis. IL-6 is produced by a variety of cells such as hepatocytes, B and T lymphocytes, neurons, tumor cells, and multi-potent hematopoietic cells that acts on a wide range of tissues. It plays a central role in the production of a variety of pathological conditions including inflammatory responses, sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, allergy, trauma, pain, neurodegenerative diseases, as well as several other autoimmune diseases.
The Tribo™ Mouse IL-6 ELISA Kit is designed to detect mouse IL-6 levels quantitatively in different tissue including skin, muscle, neural, serum, and other biological samples. The plate has been coated with murine IL-6 monoclonal antibody and any IL-6 present in the sample or standard will be captured. A biotin-conjugated anti-murine IL-6 antibody is added along with streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (HRP) accompanied by substrate. The reaction exhibits a blue color in direct proportion to the amount of IL-6 in the initial sample. The reaction can be terminated by the addition of a stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450nm. The concentration of IL-6 in the samples is calculated opposite to the standard curve.

Kit Sizes:

1x 96-well plate (8x 12 strip well).

Applications:

Direct Assays: quantitative IL-6 in different tissues.

Key Features:

  • Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of mouse IL-6 is less than 8.0 pg/mL typically.
  • Specificity: This assay recognizes recombinant and natural mouse IL-6. No cross-reactivity with any of other cytokine is observed.
